Today’s task was to “praise an unsung achievement.”
So I decided on 3 (one politically incorrect as most of the society hates them but I saw them in action so there.)
1. Neighbor: I posted a note on his door. This is what it said (true to the core in regards to him). “Dear neighbor. Sorry to bother you with this note, but I can no longer keep it quiet. The way you deal with your trash is admirable. Your bags are beautifully tied and quite hermetic and resistant to raccoons that visit our neighborhood on a daily bases. Moreover, you sweep the trash area when someone irresponsible just leaves it on the floor and the said raccoons have a go at it during the night. You have my respect.”
2. (the wanky one but they show up at my neighbor across me almost every night because his foster children misbehave and people report it as they literally break into neighborhood cars. true story). “I live in 8708 and watch you almost every day. Because the walls of my condo are thin I can hear you dealing with that. Your posture is magnificent (yes, I have been spying). You strike the perfect balance of scarring the criminal mind and reassuring the foster father. I love to send this note to your superiors. However, I would like you to be quieter as I really do not need to hear all that you have to say.”
3. I had to call Keiser pharmacy to raise hell as they screwed up one of my prescriptions (i think I spoke of it in regard to one of my posts on FB). And lo and behold, I got a great lady (but probably she wanted to unload me from her shoulders as I was distraught). “Dear person on the phone (my doc). Please pass my congratulation on to the person who answered the phone (after 30 min wait). She transferred my phone to you at 3:45 today and I got you and resolved the issue. She did it in a smooth manner that made it worth waiting for half an hour.”
This concludes my being nice to people today (or for a month or even a year). Moral of the story: be nice to people of service. Consider it like tipping a waiter 20%.
