I took a break from posting and all social media. Needed to cut myself off from technology and use the computer only for work. Sometimes I get overloaded. What came out of it was me reading like crazy. In this time, I’ve read 25 books. I won’t post the list. You just have to trust me. I don’t even watch TV because it became boring, and all the shows seem the same: same plot, same cliché characters (the villains are super bad, the good guys are super good). The only show I watched that I like is Killing Eve. I think it even became a cult classic. I know many discussion blogs and posts about it. The fan base is expanding. The show is marvelous, with complicated characters who are neither 100% good nor 100% bad. And there is even a following of people keeping track of the dresses Eve wears in each plot situation. I highly recommend it, especially if you are a proponent of Women Power!

The book I am reading right now is “The Use of Weapons” from the “Culture” series by Iain Banks. It is marvelous. Not only is it a page-turner, but it is full of interesting themes like humanity against sentient AI, what it means to be in between wars and peace (there is an imminent war that depends on one of the characters in the book and his rescue), and how it affects everything by being an almost immortal human changing bodies for the younger models. What do you do when you’ve seen it all? The main character is neither good nor bad and works for either side as a mercenary, but is incredibly likable regardless. You cannot help but root for him and his success, which was not always the case, which I also like. Not only do I recommend this book, but everything written by Banks if you like space operas.

On to a workshop now for work. I will write more often, including book reviews. Until then.
