picture of death

Today, I am writing about my biggest fear because of the current administration. I am a naturalized citizen, but Trump’s latest policy states that naturalized citizens are subject to having their citizenship revoked. Thus, I live in constant fear and absolutely will not travel outside the US for the possibility of not being allowed access back. Goodbye, walking the Camino in the near future. I am politically active. Although I do not post political posts on my Facebook timeline, I do comment a lot and participate in protests. I am stopping altogether, especially after hearing that the daughter of my boss was arrested during one of the protests. If I am arrested, I most likely would be deported. Additionally, Facebook flagged me for commenting on anti-Trump posts. I am now not active on Facebook. What little time I spend there is just to check on my friends. Another development is my sister’s interest in visiting me, which is absolutely not possible right now, as I have to write her an invitation, and I am sure they will check my social media and who knows what else, and I am afraid to be on the radar in any capacity. Hell, I am even scared to travel within the US, as a lot of people get arrested at the airports. It might seem that I give importance to myself, but the fear is tangible and fully justified based on how many people get snatched for no reason (I am talking about green-card holders with brown skin), stating, “By mistake.”

Thus, the insomnia. My brain simply does not stop working. I am afraid there are still 3.5 years to live in fear. And I think that is what this administration wants.
