Today’s task was “Give the discreet finger (you know which one) to people all day.” Well, some of it I did yesterday in anticipation of this task because I had to go to DMV. So many opportunities!!!!! Finger gold mine (especially for the clerks who totally deserve it as the customer service is at a snail’s pace. I think they do it on purpose because there are like gazillion people waiting for their authority and it strokes their ego. Besides, if there was no line in DMV perhaps they get lonely). I was sneaky. First I held my paperwork with my finger on the front of the pages (I wish I had a diagram to show you). That went well. No one noticed even the short guy who was staring at me the whole time perhaps being jealous of my 2 feet of inches on him. That continued for an hour and I still received no complaints. I used a similar strategy on the clerk when it became my turn. In addition to signing for my driver’s license with my middle finger extended over the pen (again, I wish I had a diagram as this one is complicated) I also handed him the paperwork with my finger over it. Lovely, not a peep. So far I am succeeding nicely. Today, however, at Zoom meetings I held a different routine. I adjusted my glasses with my finger and then scratched my nose with one as well. Then I ran out of strategies mainly because although it is possible to pick my nose with the finger it perhaps won’t bode for me well as it is not really socially acceptable in front of people (please watch Sienfield episode on this as a reference). Then of course on the walk with Opee, I held the leash with my extended finger. But it was raining and there were no people to meet so that was a bit wasted although I continued it just in case.
