Today’s task is to “make a snowball.”
The book provided instructions:
1. Empty your freezer: hm… really? why don’t just make space?
2. Place an empty bawl inside: ok, got one.
3. Use a sharp tool to scrape layers of ice from the freezer into a bowl: my freezer was not icy at all so it demanded a trip to a store. used a flathead screwdriver for breaking the ice cubes into shavings. worked like a charm. now I have gazzilion pounds of ice in my freezer and I don’t drink anything with ice. I guess I just have to find a party to go to. I think “I’ll bring ice” is a good thing. And maybe a bottle of wine?
4. Leave it to gel together for an hour: well, it took close to 2 hours but whatever, the job was done.
5. Mold ice into a ball shape: tried it with my bare hands and almost lost them to the cold ice so I got out my gloves and had to do it then. I don’t use gloves in Oregon as the temperatures are very mild so seeing some use out of them was spectacular.
6. Run out and have a snowball fight with your friends: first of all, I don’t have friends living in my area but it was OK as I have awesome neighbors and befriended a woman who walks a dog at the same time I do and our dogs really love each other so we always try to synchronize. However, the thing I forgot about is that the person you have a snowball fight with has to have a sense of humor. That was not the case there. I threw it at her back as I did not want to hit her in the face and she turned around and gave me a “WTF” look and was totally startled. I was afraid of losing Opee’s best friend so I proceeded to explain to her the whole “Change your life” book. She accepted it with my apology and the whole shpiel about the tasks. Thank you, lord, for not taking away the frolicking pleasures of my dog!
