Today’s task was to sing Wagner’s Ring Cycle in the shower.
I had to do some research and turns out it is three operas under the name. Naturally, there is no way I could bellow three operas so I had to look up at least one that lists the lyrics. Although the book provided a musical score there is no way I could decipher it so I turned to youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVUanA7g-Vs This is one of the operas in the series: Das Rheingold. Don’t ask me for a translation. I actually had to listen to the entire opera to find the lines I would bellow in the shower. Here are the lyrics I chose:
“Weia! Waga! Woge, du Welle,
walle zur Wiege! wagala weia!
wallala, weiala weia!”
I repeated them throughout my shower time (about 30 min).
The good thing is that I possibly had an audience as the walls in my condo are pretty thin so my neighbors got the full blast of my bellowing in German. I like all the “w”s. Did he do it on purpose? In any case, I have not heard a broom pounding on my ceiling thus deduced that my neighbors were on board with my educational stint.
