Today’s task was to “place flowers on an old unattended gravestone”. This was a serious task as it involved dead people. But you would not believe what happened! The only cemetery I know is in Forest Grove — 30 min drive. I almost went there after walking with Opee. But the weirdest thing happened! We were hiking in the woods in a park in the city and came across a grave. And I mean in the middle of the woods! It is like the Universe wanted to throw me a lifeline! The grave was there since 1983 so I am sure it was unattended for some time. But someone took great care at the time of death as the stone was marble. Not only that but it was a double grave (Brian and Irene. Brian expired in 1975 and Irene in 1983). I think husband and wife? Crazy! I chose artificial flowers so that they last and had to get them from Fred’s. They look a bit X-masy with the poinsetas but there was not much choice: it is the season. So I decided to go all the way and add fir things. Got them in the home decor section. I think I will come back in the Spring and change them to spring flowers. Fred’s for sure will have them in the home decor section. Maybe lavender? Needless to say, after that, I came back and Opee was happy about the second walk. It took an hour to get there.
