A friend of mine from Alaska just emailed a video of falling snow. God, I miss Alaska. It is 84F here at the end of September. I don’t think I can deal with it anymore. I still can’t run as it is too hot after I walk my dog for two hours in the morning. That brings me to the afternoon with raised temperatures already. I hate the sun right now.
I am still waiting on the house appraisal and would be curious to see if I actually got a good deal with my offer. RedFin has an estimate of just $500 over what I paid for. Maybe the real appraisal will come higher.
I cannot wait to move into my new apartment. It’s my own! And I can do anything I want to it. I got lucky because the apartment is ready to move into sans minor repairs for which I got credit towards my closing costs. I already have a handyman in mind thanks to my wonderful agent. I am so grateful to her and so happy I switched realtors. My previous one hid the information such as you can set your closing day yourself (big revelation) which was important to me because I am still under the lease for my apartment and would have paid dearly if I broke it in September. This way, my mortgage payment will be due in December and I only have to pay the rent until then and not carry both.
That is all on my mind for now. I am already arranging furniture based on the pictures of my house. I check tit every day just because I want to reassure myself that I did the right thing. I got lucky. It was a Labor Weekend and everyone was out of town so there was only one other offer.
Anyhow. I picked up art again. It is probably the last piece in the “Whimsical” series but I got to do it. I am thinking switching to painting from the drawing as soon as I move into my new house because I will have a studio and would be able to work on canvases instead of 15 in by 22 in the paper. I cannot wait!
My next step would be to put laminate everywhere and get rid of the carpet. That will probably take a year of saving money for that. I am even excited about that.
Anyhow, sorry to drivel all and all about my new house but it just features prominently in my mind until I actually move in. I will post pictures for your enjoyment and validation. Hopefully, you would like it as much as I do.
