after the rain picture
Today’s task was to “change the weather.” What I wished for is a day with continued rain as I love the rain and wished it rained cats and dogs today. I wanted to be cozy with a blanket reading a book with a cup of tea listening to the rain outside. So I set out on the ways to call for that weather. Here is what I did:
1. Sioux Rain Dance (dancing in a circle four times around a cup of water.)
2. Zuni rain Dance (whirling yourself around actings like the wind). I had to interpret the acting like a wind part so I just threw my arms around like a wave you see in stadiums. The whirling got me dizzy but I hoped it was worth it.
3. The Hopi Rain Dance (suppose to dance holding a venomous snake in your mouth). I did not have one in hand so I decided to go to a toy store to see if they had the rubber one for sale (to be safe) and then I went to a pet store hoping for a real one. No luck in both places. Which is fine pet store-wise. I really hate snakes venomous or not and would not have them in the aquarium as a pet. So I opted for a shoelace to emulate the snake hoping it would be OK.
4. Spray aerosols with CVCs. Hello, hair spray. Did you know that Freds still carry it? I was surprised. Got one but before I tried it I looked closely at the article about them and found out that they cause global warming. Thank god I caught it on time! I don’t need more global warming as it is already the winter weather in Oregon in its 50s F. Abomination. I want mittens and scarves!
Well, after all that trouble I looked at the forecast for tomorrow and the Google lady said 60% chance of rain. Well, I hoped for 100% but I will take 60%. Lo and behold at 3 pm it is supposed to rain 100%. My dances were not in wane!
Here is to the rain!
