Don’t really have any news today. It is a very occasional post on Monday. The heat wave is still here. Hopefully the last day of it for a while. The forecast from Google lady is hopeful. Opee and I survived in spite of the hot pavement and zillions of degrees outside. Thank god the inside is cool.
On a shitty note… I got audited by the IRS and now they claim I owe them $4 instead of over a grand refund… They stated that I can call them to resolve it but it is an automated message hell. Tried 3 times. No one picked up. I swear they do it on purpose. The treasury needs any dollar they can get even if it is $4.
On a depressing note, I am turning 50 this year. I can not believe I am and made it that long. All I can think of is wrinkles (of which I have plenty and call them laughing lines in complete denial) and the fact that I only have about 30 years left if I am lucky and they will fly by crazily fast… I know, morbid but it is a reality. I am afraid to have a birthday party as it will make it more final. After all, it will be written on a cake. And if it is not then your friends will be ecstatic for you as if you are turning 21. This shit sucks. I spent my 40th alone and am very hopeful it will happen for the 50th. After all, I have a knack for canceling myself out of parties.
On addiction. Surprisingly it is not drugs (well wine maybe). The work is kind of slow right now and in between spurts of activity, I went to Quora (hope my boss does not read this). Yes, it was the stupidest thing anyone can do. Full of trolls who post insanely offensive comments and don’t really read your posts. For example, they see the name Putin and they automatically assume you are a supporter even though what comes after that name says I hate him. Anyhow, it is over now. But Quora does not make it easy to quit. They give you 14 days until your account is deleted. So tempting to log in again… Is there a Quora anonymous? The internet definitely giveth and in a shitty way.
