Today’s task was to “do something before breakfast today.” The book provided a number of activities.
1. Call a friend and express surprise they are not up yet — no chance in hell as my bestie raises at 6 am and there is no way I will wake up before that. Strike 1.
2. Find out what’s on TV today — Well, I don’t have a TV. I only have Netflix and Amazon Prime. And I know what’s in there as it is all on my wishlist. However, after listening to a podcast while I walked ze beastie I discovered a good documentary. So, I guess that counts for the upcoming programming.
3. Go for a five-mile run — I have not been running in a while because of my knee and walking ze beastie for 6 miles at a fast pace. Both burn a significant amount of fat. I am happy with that. So, I will count it as complete.
4. Watch the sunrise — For sure. The sunrise today was at 7:30 am (according to Google lady). Hallelujah! That I could do and did. I woke up at 7 just to make sure I did not miss it. I had to make sure I was on an unobstructed place to see it as my condo is surrounded by tall bushes which I enjoy for privacy and so that I can keep my blinds open (otherwise I get claustrophobic). It was OK as it is a cloudy and rainy day so there was a minimal beautiful light. More like hazy light during fires. Done!
5. Set the alarm for 5 o’clock and rise — no way in hell (see the post about calling a friend). Strike 2.
6. Milk a cow — Although I really would like to but I hate fresh milk. I used to do it while living on my grandma’s farm in Belarus and was gagging every time she gave me freshly milked milk. Gross. Besides, I don’t have a cow, and driving to farms here to ask to milk one is just weird. I doubt they would let me do it. Half a strike since I did it before.
7. Lick morning dew off a leaf — well, it was rainy so it is not really a dew but rainwater. Probably tastes the same anyway. I was lucky as there are so many leaves on the ground around my condo and so many trees surrounding it. I settled for the ground leaves because I also wanted to dry them between the book pages for posterity. It tasted fine with a sprinkle of musty flavor.
So, to recap, I got 2 and a half strikes and it is OK in my book.
