Sunday

4.23.23

Today’s task was to “do as you are told.”
Well, seeing how it is Sunday I can’t really practice it at work nor do I want to. Here comes Opee. Although he is already the king of my household (sans the crown) I decided to go the extra mile. The morning started with him jumping on my bed and snoozing for 10 minutes then demanding pets for which he had to wake me up by nudging my elbow with his nose. So, naturally, I did what I was told and petted him. The 5 minutes were not nearly enough as once I stop he kept nudging me for more pets. After that, I went back to catch more sleep only to wake up at him sitting by my bed on the left-hand side (which is where my face was turned to) and staring at me intently. That pretty much amounts to “Human, I know you are not dead. Wake up and take me on my walk. I need to poop.” Reluctantly I got out of bed and went to the living room to prepare for a walk. My Opee followed me but instead of going to the door he just laid down and did not budge at all when I said “Let’s go on a walk.” Instead, he gazed at me with his pitiful eyes. That pretty much meant, “Let’s go on a drive somewhere instead. The neighborhood is boring.” What a girl to do? Well, I had to obey per task. Off on the drive, we go. I consoled myself with the fact that I had to go to the store so I had to drive anyway. We went to a park by Hillsboro Library. It’s very beautiful with ponds and geese and unfortunately also beavers. Opee loves beavers. I got lucky that they were all hiding in the water. If I acquiesced it would have been a disaster. Disaster averted. Then he proceeded to drag me to a field that was situated on the edge of the park to hunt mice. Due to the fact that he never goes out of the bounds of the fields where he hunts, I was not too worried. Once again, I succumbed to his request.
Back at home, it’s feeding time. I poured his food into his bowl but to no avail. He did not touch his food and instead sat by the pantry door which means he demanded treats. Once again I caved and gave him what he demanded. However, he kept sitting by the pantry door again after that which meant he wanted a bully stick. “Here you go little shit.” And this was just morning and afternoon. I am in fear of what comes in the evening. Maybe I just leave this task at that. Yes, my lord. I bow to your majesty.
