I am reviving the “This Book Will Change Your Life” tasks. Today’s task was to “save the life of an ant.” No ants could be found in this cold weather but because it is raining all the worms are out and of course, there are spiders in my apartment and I mean a lot of them. So, I decided to be an overachiever and save both. So, on our two-hour walk this morning I was dancing around the worms to keep them alive. But I saw many who have been cut in half probably by bicyclists who don’t care. Thank god they can actually regenerate. I wished them good luck and moved on with my dance routine.
At home things were different. I am repulsed by spiders. The other day I got one making its merry way on my shirt that I planned to wear. Of course, it was before this task so needless to say he expired under the shoe I used. The killing was intentional. Now I feel bad about it especially that according to Soviet beliefs spiders bring good luck. Anyhow, the next one I saw was gigantic and was making his way into my living room. Paper towel it is. I caught him and then released him outside. I was pretty proud of myself. Now he can create his web among the trees. Most likely I would walk into it while walking with my doggo.
Here you go, two creatures saved. Proud day today.
