The biggest news as of right now is that I quit drinking. Well, I decided to stop drinking and today is day one. I need to survive 3 days. Then the alcohol will be out of my system… I heard that day 3 is the roughest one. We will see. The main reason I decided to quit is it was getting out of control and I was drinking every day and because it is so expensive when you consume it every day and just because I wanted. I think I might be able to quit as I quit cigarettes which are also highly addictive substance. I think the first thing I need to do (besides not drinking :)) is to change my routine. It all depends on it. I drink when I watch Netflix in the evening and when I read and when I do art. I hope I just have to replace it with coffee and virgin cocktails. I hope it works. Of course, it would be great to go for a run when craving wine but alas I cannot as I busted my knee. Maybe a walk? Am I whining?

It is hard and embarrassing to admit you have a problem. But as the cliche goes, “Admitting you have a problem is one step towards recovery.” I guess it is true. However, quitting is a hard job and you can often slip and say I’ll quit tomorrow… And I am tired of “tomorrows.” It’s been a tomorrow for months. However, the craving started as I type this and the temptation to go to a store is big. How do other people do it? Maybe instead of quitting “cold turkey” I should downsize my habit and go from there. But it has its own danger: you will crave more…

Anyhow, this post won’t go on Facebook. It’s too personal and vulnerable. I am not ready to share. No one reads my blog. It is more for my own sake to reflect and practice writing so I am safe here in this private place.

That’s it for today. Over.
