Now, that we are almost at the end of the semester, it is time to showcase your work! This week you will be working on your blogs in WordPress. The goal is to bring some of your social media sites together in one place. You will be using WordPress widgets that come with your chosen theme.

Learning Objectives

1. Construct ePortfolio site using WordPress.
2. Differentiate between widgets, menus, categories and pages, and posts.
3. Summarize ideas you were exposed to in Shirky’s Cognitive Surplus book.

A little about ePortfolios:

Simply, an e-Portfolio is a website that contains a collection of a person’s academic, artistic, or professional work.

In higher education, we generally consider an e-Portfolios to be a collection of evidence posted online that shows the progress of your learning over time and demonstrates your competence or abilities within a discipline or subject.

Portfolios are used for many different purposes: for learning and/or assessment (learning portfolios), for professional development (credential portfolios), or for job applications and promotions (showcase portfolios). Depending on the purpose of the portfolio it will have many different audiences: lecturers, mentors, employers or your peers.
